Description
The Succession Act, 1925 is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted to amend and codify the law relating to intestate or unwilled succession, among Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Sikhs. The Act lays down a uniform and comprehensive system of inheritance and succession into one Act.
Who are the legal heirs of a deceased person in India?
As per the provisions of Section 305 of the Act, an executor has the power to sue on the deceased testator’s behalf with respect to all cause of action surviving the deceased and for recovery of all debts that were due to the deceased testator while he was alive
