The tasks of BSF are promoting a sense of security amongst the people living in the border areas, preventing trans-border crimes and unauthorized entry into or exit from the territory of India, and preventing smuggling and any other illegal activities.

BSF is one among CAPFs Central Armed Police forces. It comes under Mohome affairs directly and look after internal security and border management.CG is a paramilitary service. it comes under Mo defence. it has a mandate to look into the safety and security of India’s territorial water.
